Do you drink enough?

I think that water is something that is highly overlooked and massively underestimated with regards to healthy and beauty. I know I used to know all about the benefits of drinking water but I never used to really do it. Thinking back, I’m not really sure why… I know it’s not the most of exciting drinks but it’s not that bad tasting and you can always hide the taste with squash or something.

I work in a job which requires me to be on the phones and talking a lot so I find I constantly have a cup of ice cold water on the go! My mega sensitive teeth don’t appreciate it although my skin and body does! This is where I start to preach haha…

It is recommended that you drink 2 litres of water a day which may seem like a huge amount but really when you think about it, it isn’t. You know those little cups you get at water dispenser things, 5 of those is 1 litre, so you’re half way there already and those cups are tiny!

Some of the benefits which I notice when I drink a lot of water is that my skin appears a hell of a lot clearer than usual irrespective of my skin care routine. I notice a difference if I stop drinking as much water. Not only is it clearer but it also feels softer and more hydrated. Coincidence, I think not 😉 I also feel more focused and feel as though it improves my concentration levels, this is important considering the boringness of my job. Finally, the last benefit I notice would be how much it reduces your hunger, it is extremely common for people to mistake thirst for hunger, which means eating unnecessarily. As good as it may taste, it’s not going to be good for your weight in the long run, unless your someone with an extremely fast metabolism – for the record, I’m so jealous of those people.

Other benefits associated with drinking water include, improving kidney function, keep you looking young, lubricating your joints properly, speeds up your metabolism and can even protect your vital organs.

What I’m trying to say, is drink water 😀

What do you think? Do you drink much water? What differences do you notice?

  1. Agreed, 100%! I always try and drink at least 2l of water a day and the difference it makes is incredible! My skin looks tons better for a start, I don't get as tired during the day and I eat less as well, just like you said. So many people preach drinking enough water, but hardly anybody actually does it.

  2. I usually only drink water. Not enough, however. I dion't know why but I struggle with drinking as much as I probably needed to.
Lovely post – I think, sometimes people forget that beauty starts from inside. If you're healthy you probably won't need sixtteen day and night creams. ;D

  3. Great post hun! I always try to drink as much as I can! It definitely helps with my skin and also I am less bloated when I keep myself topped up! Im not usually far away from a pint of it! xx
