Top 5 Holy Grail Makeup Products.

I was looking at my makeup collection the other day and thinking about how many things I own that don’t get much use. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean I don’t like them, it’s just that sometimes I have other products that do a similar job or maybe they don’t suit my skin at that particular time. Off the back of that though, I realised just how many products are truly holy grail and things which I couldn’t live without. (Okay, maybe I could. It’d be a miserable life though)

I’m going to try and talk about these in a logical order so let’s start with my all time favourite foundation which most you have heard me bang on about a million times. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation has been my go to foundation since it first came out. I love everything about it, it works wonders on my dry skin without clinging to any dry patches. It lasts all day, applies nicely, the colour is perfect. Arghh! Do you guys understand quite how much I love it?! I recently did a post comparing it with the L’Oreal Infalliable 24hr, as similar as they are, the Healthy Mix Serum is just a little bit more skin like.

The next thing that’s definitely earned holy grail status is the Nars Laguna Bronzer. Having used it every day since I recieved it for Christmas last year and repurchasing once I can honestly vouch for this product 100%. It’s just a beautiful matte bronzer which is exactly what I want, I’m not a huge fan of shimmer on the cheeks. I also love the Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder but I have neglected it recently.

In the way of blush, I have a few favourites but I think I’d have to say that the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Achiote is my favourite. It’s the only shade I own from tarte but am desperate to get my hands on more! It’s pigmented yet it’s virtually impossible to overdo making it perfect for a beginner. It’s a really beautiful shade (although very similar if not identical to Blissful) and it lasts all day without budging.

Next is something that I bought relatively recently and I’m not entirely sure if I’ve owned it long enough to put it in the holy grail category but it’s the Ambient Lighting Trio of Powders. I absolutely adore the way this makes my skin look. They are such hard things to explain because they are so subtle yet so noticeable at the same time. They are so versatile too and you can use them all in different ways depending on what look you’re going for.

Finally, my last holy grail product is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I’ve reviewed this before on my blog but it never fails to disappoint. I was always a little skeptical of setting sprays but this is a miracle worker. It keeps make up on all day, and longer and is perfect for when you’re on a night out or going to be active in warm weather. Just be sure to spray your whole face! I once made the mistake of just spraying the front, so the backs of my cheeks (is that a thing? Back of your cheeks?) didnt have any of the spray on. When I got home half my makeup was firmly in place and the rest had worn off. Not a good look.

What are your holy grail products? Do you use any of the products I’ve mentioned here?

  1. Great picks! I have everything you mentioned, although, I may have to retry the UD setting spray again. I haven't used it in a while and want to experiment with it again!

  2. I love Tarte and Hourglass, and of course NARS, 3 of my all time fave brands. Am just about to finish Dim Light which will be a sad day and a definite repurchase! My HG's include Clarins pure melt cleansing gel, Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk liner and MAC Crosswires!
