I was very kindly invited to visit Nikki at her bespoke jewellery shop in Mayfair to make my very own piece of silver jewellery. I really love hands on kind of stuff so this was really exciting to me.
I got the train from my nearest underground station to Hyde Park Corner and walked over to Shepherds Market in Mayfair. I quickly spotted the cute little shop that is Nude Jewellery in the quaint village like area. Nikki and Cara were very welcoming and made me feel right at home which was lovely, both of whom were so easy to talk to and down to earth.
When you look around the cabinets in the shop and in the window, you’re struck with so much beauty. The pieces of jewellery are absolutely breathtaking and so unique. I already knew that Nude Jewellery were an independent jewellery shop who specialise in unique designer jewellery but what I saw, still completely blew me away and definitely exceeded my expectations!

As you can see, I broke a lot of saw blades. |

I’m drilling some holes in my piece of silver. |
Nikki took me downstairs into her workshop area where she showed me the ropes and showed me what i’d be doing that day. I started off cutting through a piece of brass because it is harder than silver so a little more tricky to work with, we did a straight line, curved lines and zig zags. We then came up with a design and then scored it onto the piece of silver. I then proceeded to drill holes where needed and saw out the pieces I didn’t want, once that was done, I used a file on all the edges to make sure it was neat and crisp. (I’m somehow managing to make this sound like it only took a couple of hours, but it did actually take all day!) After everything else was done, all it needed was to be buffed on a machine thing – I probably should have asked what it was called, oops.
So want to see my finished piece of jewellery?
Drum Roll, please…
I think the whole idea of running jewellery classes is perfect and love the fact that they have different classes for different skill sets. They have an intensive silver workshop on Saturdays, an evening one, one for bridal parties and even one where you can make your own engagement rings. How cool is that?!
They also have a Christmas Competition on at the moment to win over £100 worth of designer jewellery which might be of interest to some of you so check that out!
I’m so glad I got this opportunity, I know where I will be sending anyone in need of bespoke jewellery services, and you should too! Seriously, if you’re in the area, swing by and have a look. Or why not treat someone to a piece of jewellery (you get a VERY swish box too) or a class this Christmas.
Also, go and follow them on twitter @NudeJewellery
Great post!♥
