First Impressions: Summer Goddess Makeup.

FotorCreatedI’ve got a few new bits and bobs that I wanted to share with you but didn’t want to do seperate posts for each one so what better way than a first impressions post. A face of the day with two different lip options perfect for the summer time.

I wanted something to really compliment the tan that I’m rocking at the minute so was shooting for something which was natural and light but also glamorous and put together. I’ve come up with a natural base with a slight bronzed contour and a gorgeous highlight. Shimmery but natural eyes and brows paired with two different lip colours.

For my face, I started with the Bourjois Bronzing Primer, it’s the first time I’ve used it and I’ve been blown away by it. Made by the same company that own Chanel this is remarkably similar to the soliel tan de Chanel. It’s light, mousse like and it doesn’t feel silicone heavy which I like. It blends away to nothing, but leaves a tint to the skin without having the appearance of product! If you are fair, I would think you’d need to use a foundation over top to tone the colour down a touch. This matches me perfectly at the minute, leaving my skin looking perfected but the same colour as before.

One of the problems with being tanned is not having contour shades to match your skin colour so I picked up one of the dream matte mouse pots in the colour cocoa, now this is dark, and obviously not meant for people with my skin tone, but applied lightly this makes for a perfect contour and bronzer for the summer months! I love the way it looks, and it blends out easily! I popped a little coral blush (now new) on and then moved onto the eyes.

For brows, I used the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper which all the brands are coming out with now. I just ran that through my brows and brushed through them very lightly with some powder. I like this, but it’s not quite as I expected unfortunately. It didn’t fill in sparse areas as much as I had hoped hence the added powder but did still leave my brows looking natural which was good. I’m interested to try some of the other brands versions to see the difference. Which are your favourites? Eyeshadow I just used a gold from the 17 shimmer brick and blended that up into the crease with a medium brown. I used a mixture of all the colours on the tops of my cheekbones and topped that all off with some Miss Manga Punk mascara.  That was it, nice and quick, easy and natural!

I’ve given you two options for lipsticks, both of which are also new. I opted for the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks because I know how great the formula is so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. Number 32 is a peachy nude, as you can see and 37 is coral pink shade and I love them both but think I definitely prefer the brighter pink with this look!
