Whilst I was away in America, it’s fair to say that I did quite a lot of shopping, and amongst the many other things (that I really didn’t need) was this gorgeous palette from Stila. I’ll start by saying that these colours excite me tremendously, look at them, aren’t they stunning?! No? Just me, okay. This palette has been a firm favourite in my makeup bag recently and it’s been the only thing I have reached for which is quite a motherfucking achievement for me because I switch up eyeshadows like nobodies business usually. There’s a very simple reason why this palette so easy to use on a daily basis without getting bored and that is down to the fact that it is just super versatile, you’ve got a really good mix of light neutral tones – perfect for a wash of colour or an inner corner highlight. Then you’ve got a nice mix of warm and cool toned shadows, the oranges are amazing and look really flattering on. And finally, those dark shades are perfect for adding depth and dimension to your eye and really smoking it out.
I thought I’d share with you this look which uses only this palette on my eyes. I’ll give you a quick walkthrough of what I used. Starting with a transition shade as always, I applied Wit (the pale orange toned shade) on my crease and blended that upwards towards my brow bone. I deepened that by using some of Perception (the orange shade) and applied that more precisely, in my crease only, blending out slightly towards the tail of my brow. Intellect (the purple on the bottom right) was applied with a MAC 217 very lightly in my outer V just to add more depth and then finally I used Thinker (the darker purple) to add more definition and smokiness. I don’t know about you but I love this look, granted, it could have done with a bit more blending (having to say that kills me, I’m a blendaholic), but don’t judge me, I was in a rush. I kept my skin pretty glowy and natural looking, this was for a day look so thought that would balance out with the relatively dramatic looking eyes. I paired it with a nude lip (fan girl).
What do you think? Are you a fan or warm or cool tones on your eyes?!
